If you’re looking for help with the cost of neutering your cat, you might be able to use the Cat’s Protection reduced cost neutering scheme. With the neutering scheme you could get your cat neutered and microchipped for £10.
Am I eligible for help with the cost of neutering?
If you meet any of the following criteria you can get your cat neutered and microchipped for £10:
- receipt of any of the following means-tested benefits: universal credit, income support, housing benefit, council tax benefit, pension credit, income-based ESA, income-based JSA, working tax credits and child tax credits
- have a household annual income of less than £25,000 before tax
- are a full-time student living away from home
We do not require any proof of the above but you will be asked to sign a declaration of eligibility and Cat’s Protection may contact you to request proof and/ or to confirm the accuracy of the answers provided on the declaration.
How to book a neutering appointment
To book a neutering appointment your cat needs to be registered with us. To register please click here to fill in our new pet registration form. Once the form has been processed you will receive an email reply with terms and conditions of registration attached. Once you receive this email you can then contact our reception team by calling 01592 753231, option 3 to book a pre-neuter check appointment. This is a health check with one of our vets and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the procedure. There is no additional charge for this appointment.
We will register clients from out with our normal catchment area for the neutering scheme but this will be for neutering only. We will ask for you current vets details so that we can send the history to them once neutering has been carried out.
Once your cat has had is pre-neuter check we can book the operation appointment. We will ask for the £10 contribution to be paid at the time of booking the appointment as a non-refundable deposit.
If for any reason you cannot attend your booked operation appointment please contact us as soon as possible so that we can reallocate the slot to another patient.
